Suicide is an epidemic all over the country and the State of Kansas is no exception. In fact, teen suicide rates are at their highest ever. Suicide is an uncomfortable topic that many are nervous to discuss, but all data shows that if we talk to our students, it makes a difference.
Taking action BEFORE teens get to that point of desperation is also crucial. In this presentation you will hear about our active strategies to combat the desperation some teens may feel. You will hear from students who have struggled, and overcome. These same students have partnered with two local firefighters to speak to every, single student in our building. These students are members of our Make a Difference Club and have started a pantry, school supply closet, clothing and toiletries bank and multiple other supports for our building. Come ready to be INSPIRED and MOTIVATED to Make a Difference in your building!
